Baclofen is a muscle relaxant and an anti-spastic agent. It is used to treat muscle symptoms, spinal cord injury, caused by multiple sclerosis, including spasm, pain, rigidity and tension in muscles. It is primarily used to treat spasticity and is in the early stages of use for the treatment of alcoholism.
Directions
Lioresal can be taken with or without food, with a glass of water. Dosage must be prescribed by doctor for each patient individually.
Precautions
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any allergies. To make sure you can safely take baclofen, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease or epilepsy or other seizure disorder.
Being treated with this drug, please avoid drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. Older people may be more sensitive to the effects of this medicine. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication.
Contraindications
Don't use it if you are allergic.
Possible side effect
The most frequent effects are allergic reaction hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face confusion,heartbeat or headache. Inform your doctor for medical advice about another effects.
Drug interaction
Tell your doctor about all other medicines you use. Note, that Lioresal can cooperate with:
* medicines for depression
* medicines for pain such as codeine, oxycodone, tramadol
* antihistamines.
Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Don't take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose
Overdose symptoms may be dizziness, chest pain, pounding heartbeats, feeling light-headed and convulsions. Seek emergency at once if you have it.
Storage
Room temperature between 68-77 F (20-25 C). Store away from moisture and light. Keep it out of the reach of children and away from pets.
